What is the fee structure in your college – it becomes a common question by the parents whenever they approach in any Engineering College to admit their son / daughter. Next botheration is about hidden charges. Then the expenses for food, transport irrespective of the consideration whether it is necessary or not necessary. Now, certainly this is the time the Government should think seriously about fixing a common fee to all the private Engineering Institutions. The steps are being taken for quiet long time.
The Justice B.S. Srikrishnan Committee constituted by All India Council for Technical Education, is taking all possible steps to find a solution to fix common fee formula. The committee will meet different state holders, including Anna University Officials, commissioner of Technical Education and representatives of various colleges in September 21.
It is decided to discuss how the state had fixed fees for private Engineering Colleges and get an opinion for the stake holders about the common fee structure. According to S.S, Mamtha, the chairman of All India Council of Technical Education, that the Committee had its preliminary meetings in July. It is expected Institution the reports will be submitted within three months to AICT. Earlier meeting was held in Mumbai. It is expected that Justice SriKrishnan would meet members of their department, Vice chancellors of Anna University and Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University and a couple of private Engineering and Medical college authorities to understand how to fix common fee structure.
