IIT & DM students waiting for their degree

One hundred students, of Indian Institutes of Information Technology Design and manufacturing (IIT & DM), Kancheepuram, even after completion of their degrees yet to receive their graduation. The reason is, the Institute yet to get authorization under parliament Act. Smriti Irani, the H.R.O. ministry stated that IIT D&M Kancheepuram was set up in 2007 and who graduated from this institute till 2014 has yet to in conferred degrees. To sort out this issue and to confered degree to graduates the Institute has to be authorized under an act of parliament or should be declared a deemed to be university by UGC under section 3 of UGC act, 1956.
