Latest Criteria to become a Teacher - Eligibility

To become a Government School teacher as per the latest norms the deciding factors are the marks in TET, XII, UG and other qualifying examinations. It is clear; the candidates who are good in all these factors will get a job in Government Schools. The new Government Order released on May 30, says clearly, that for the recruitment of candidates as Graduate . Assistants and as secondary grade teachers has been modified to replace the grading system that was used to provide the weight age for qualifying examinations.

In the previous system, the candidates, who scored will in a range of percentage in their qualifying examinations were given the same weightage of marks, in this system each percentage increase with a different weitage mark.

                For the job of Graduate assistants as Secondary Grade Teachers the qualifying examinations include TET, H.Sc exam, degree exams, B.Ed/D.T.Ed/D.E.Ed. The weightage for each of these exams range between 10 and 60 percent. But, in the earlier system, candidates, scoring 90 and above, 80-90%, 70-80%, will be kept in the same weightage. But according to the present system every percentage marks differ weightage mark.

If, in case the student of same marks comes, the date of birth will be taken in to account and the senior in age will be given the priority.
