The Association of University Teachers raised its voice claiming clarity in admission of Arts and Science Colleges, in particular in Government aided institution.
The Association wrote to the Directorate of collegiate Education (DCE) insisting to release admission guidelines for this academic year. It is regrettable that the Government used to release this after the completion of admissions in most of the colleges.
The Association requested, even in 2011 itself. The Higher Education Department to create a regulatory mechanism for this. The association also insisted for clear and viable fee structure. It also insisted for the strict implementation of reservation rules for admissions.
The teachers association blames the regional directors of collegiate education, for the improper implementation of guidelines. The Tamil Nadu Educational Institutions Act, to prohibit the collection of capitation fee formed its rules and regulation in 1992 itself. But, still nothing was implemented. It is known, that as on date, in the past 22 years no not even single action was taken against the malfunctioning institution.
