Engineering Admission in Anna University

Anna University is known since the inception for Education, in specific for systematic Technical Education. The students who have passed their XII examinations will get their seats based on their out off marks without any difficulty.

It is expected that the results of XII standard will be declared probably by 9^th of May, by the Directorate of Examinations.

In this academic year around 8.45 lacs of students have appeared for XII examinations in the state.

According to the latest statistics there are around 570 Engineering colleges are in Tamil Nadu under Anna University. The admissions are meant for the Departments under Anna University, the colleges under Anna University and the self financed colleges afflicted by Anna University. There are around 2 lacs of seats for Engineering Admissions which will be filled by single Windom system by general counseling. The students will be called for counseling based on cut off marks.

The applications will be issued probably on May.

Anna University follows the seat allocation procedure of the state Government of Tamil Nadu. 3% of special quota is available for gifted candidates (alternately talented). 500 seats are allotted for sports people, out of this, 12 is exclusively available in the Departments of Anna University. Seats also available for the children of Ex-service persons. Fee concession is given to the first generation graduates.

To avail all the facilities the necessary copies of documents like community certificate, Residence certificates, mark certificates, should be enclosed with the applications. More over the concerned candidates should enclose first graduation certificate, physically Handicapped eligibility certificate, sports certificates, Ex-service man certificate should be enclosed by the applications.

Anna University has decided to issue the list of certificates well in advance to avoid eleventh hour pressure.
