From the forthcoming Academic year, Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai will offer a joint doctoral degree program in association with the University of Pusan, Germany. The PhD students will be jointly trained and they will be getting a good opportunity in getting two Ph.Ds one from IIT-Madras and the other from University of Pusan. The Dean for Academic courses Bhaskar Ramamurthy highlighted the benefits of this project. The students who are admitted to this PhD course will get a chance to visit Germany twice for a period of 6 months while German scholars will visit to Chennai.
It is planned to admit 15 students. In the one year and exchange of facility is also part of the program. German Academic exchange service will offer scholarship to Indian students for training and living expenses.
