The Air ports authority of India served recently eviction notice to the flying club of Chennai. This flying club was started 84 years ago. The club teaches flying at subsidized rates. According to Rishi Mukund, a ground Instructor of Madras flying club that till December were allowed to use Chennai for learning flying. But since 2014 around 70 students are setting only in the class rooms they are not permitted to use the air-port.
According to the rules, a student, besides clearing the examinations, has to attend 200 hours of flying out of which 100 hours in solo flying to get commercial pilots license. This has to be acquired continuously over a period of 5 years.
Mr.Rajakumar, the secretary of MFC said that AAI is forcing them to vacate and they are prepared to move out it AAI gives them land and facilities.
