Who has to regulate Engineering Colleges?

The present western prevailing, regarding Engineering Education is concerned is, which is the regulating body of Engineering Institutions. The confusion is between University Grants commission and All India Technical Institutions. It is now decided that UGC become the authority to regulate Engineering colleges. Anna University sources referred they will initiate the process to approve new colleges and extend approved to existing colleges sum after getting the guidelines from UGC.
