Ragging complaints statistics

No doubt, serious measures are taken by the Government of Tamil Nadu to control ragging in the college. Still, the statistics says that Tamil Nadu has fifth highest number of calls to University grants commission. A UGC official stated that 31 complaints were received in the beginning of this year. It is under school that the most of the calls were from the students in college on the out skirts of the cities and suburban places. The calls were mostly about bullying and mental harassment by senior students.

The police of the state said that action was taken against 80+ of the said cases. In few cases the students themselves with draw the cases accepting the pressure from management.

 It is known, that the national Anti ragging helpline was started few years ago as directed by the Supreme Court.
