More encouragement for sports in Tamil Nadu

To encourage sports and to promote spirit of competition, Hon. Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu J. Jayalalitha launched Rs. 10 crores to conduct sports competitions at District and Zonal levels.  According to the press Release from Tamil Nadu secretariat around 2.64 crore is allotted for area level sports competitions and 79.83 lac for education district level competitions.  The government also sanctioned 1.45 crore for zonal level new games and Rs.1.29 crore for zonal level old games.  Moreover Rs.94.33 lac has been given for stage level Republic Day and Bharathiyar Day games.  Rs.1.790 crores was allotted for conducting the qualifying competitions in various categories for students to take part in National and International sports.
