Honour to scientists by Sastra University

ON Sunday, this week, Sastra University honoured Senior defense and space scientists for their contributions to the Indian defence and space capabilities.  The university honoured.  Avinash Chander, scientific Advisor to defence minister and Director General of DRDO and S. Rama Krishnan, director Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Thiruvananthapuram.  During the same occasion, Dr. S. Amrutharajan was awarded Chancethari Medal and cash prize of Rs.50,000/ for the best Ph.D dissertation for his research in stenography.  12 candidates record Ph.D degree in the program. More than 3000 candidates were awarded B.Tech, MBA and Law and Science degrees.
