School Education Minister dropped from state government

School Education Minister Vaigai Chelvan was dropped on Thursday from the cabinet on 5^th September.  According to the official release, the portfolio of Dr. Vaigaichelvam will be handled by Higher Education Minister P. Palaniappan.  Dr. Vaigai Chelvan was also in charge of Sports and Youth Welfare, Tamil Official Language and Tamil Culture.  Chief Minister and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) general secretary Dr. J. Jayalalitha told that Vaigai Chelvan also been removed from the position, secretary of the party’s youth wing, Ilaignar Pasarai, Ilam Pengal Peravai.

Vaigai Chelvan succeeded N.R, Sivapathy. Who was the minister for about a year.  Earlier when the present Tamil Nadu Government took over in May 2011.  C.V.C Shanmugam was the first school Education minister.
