Innovation centres will be set up across the country to provide hands-on learning opportunity to school and college students, Sam Pitroda said.
The aim of these hubs would be to provide students of class 5th to 8th a hands-on learning environment, where they could de-construct, re-construct or re-purpose every day objects that they saw or used.
The innovation hubs would include 'Tod Fod Jod' (TFJ) centres.
"We will have 48 such innovation hubs over a period of time," Sam Pitroda, adviser to the Prime Minister on Information Infrastructure and Innovation, said.
Pitroda inaugurated one such hub here at the Birla Industrial and Technological Museum, a 2,000 sq ft science laboratory for class VI to XII and college students.
He suggested that there should be innovation festivals and monthly lectures on innovation to keep the interest alive among students.
