From web journalism to forensic science and media studies to language courses, DU colleges offer students a plethora of choice.
The curriculum for the four-year undergraduate programme (FYUP) has made it possible for students to explore their academic interest in a variety of disciplines through associate and foundation courses. Further, those interested in giving their learning curve a sharper bend, can enrol for short-term addon courses, on offer in some colleges of the University of Delhi.
From web journalism to forensic science and media studies to language courses, various colleges in DU are offering students a plethora of choice. Ramjas college is offering students courses like: Gandhigiri - interpreting Gandhi in the modern context; emotional management - technique of mind control; film appreciation ; and peace & conflict resolution, among others.
Says VS Khan, administrative officer, Gargi College , "Our college conducts several add-on courses with an aim to equip students with basic and essential skills required to be absorbed in executive jobs in various industries like banking and finance, advertising and marketing, tally accounting , foreign languages and counselling. Besides, we also offer courses in vedic mathematics, historical tourism, professional ethics, etc. Admission to these courses are underway for the current academic year at Gargi." These courses are open to boys and girls of DU and also recent graduates. The last date to apply is August 20, 2013. College is the best time to expand your horizon and add-on courses help you do that.
