 More girl students in IIT (M)

In general there is no much increase in the number of girls joining in B.Tech and B.Tech (Dual degree) programmes in the Indian Institute of Technology. But 74 girls have joined in IIT-M for M.Tech.  there is an increase 13 girl students when compared to last year.

According to Prof.Bhaskar Ramamurthy, the Director of IIT-M there is an increase in the number of girls joining in engineering courses.  According to Prof. L.S. Ganesh, the dean (Students) IIT-M predicts that the waiver of application fee for girls by HRD may be the reason for this increase.
