410 fresh MBBS seats are given to Tamil Nadu Medical Colleges. The Medical Council of India has sanctioned additional seats in 5 existing colleges and new Medical college also came into existence.

On Wednesday 25 extra seats were sanctioned for state govt Medical college 50 extra each seats for KAP Vishwanath Govt Medical College, Trichy and Govt Medical College Tutucorin.

This is in addition to the 285 extra seats sanctioned in June. 100 seats for the new Thriruvannamalai Medical College, 100 for Stanely Medical ollege, 85 seats for Madras medical college.

As such, 410 seats for Govt Medical colleges alone and after surrendering the all India quota, the net is 349 seats. These seats were included in second round counseling from August 5^th. Now the number of seats in TN after excluding the all India uota is 2172. ESI Medical College which was granted recognition for 100 seats has surrender 65 seats to state quota.

The fate some provide college is pending in the court. Some colleges derecognized. So, there will be a loss of seats in private sector.

Since self financing colleges are also surrender a percentage to the state quota.

This is the first time that the state has got 410 new seats 4 new Medical Colleges came up with an initial sanctioned strength of 100 seats each.
