Languages of Thieves and Transgender - survey

 On September 5, Orient Black Swan and people’s Linguistic Survey of India (PLSI) will release 50 volumes of books carrying documents of various languages in the country, even sign languages, languages of transgender and the languages of thieves are taken into account.

Dr. G.N Devy the Chairperson of PLSI stated that the survey has documented facts as Indians speaking foreign languages like Japanese, Italian.  Other interesting aspects in sign languages.  Signs themselves are languages.  According to Dr. Devy that the transgender before being declined offenders and put into jails were appointed as security for kings and since that time they have had a language exclusive to them.  This is also taken into account according to Dr. Devy.
