Updated on: Thursday, July 04, 2013

Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission Authorities visualise the possibility of 70,000 BE / B.Tech seats vacant this year. Is this show exploitation of provide managements.  Under this circumstances, why the parents are running after Management Quota with bag of money? What is the Problem?

If this prediction is true, it would be the largest number of seat vacant in the history of single window Govt Counselling history.

It seems that private Engineering Colleges this year have surrendered more seats including their management quota to the common pool since they were not able to captivate admissions.

As on July 2, at the end of counsellign only 41,176 candidates were allotted seats.  10,316 candidates, that is 19,981 did not attend counselling.   137 candidates attended counselling  but did not join because they didn't get their choice.

At this juncture, 1,55,137 seats, individual 25 seats in Anna University, 2359 seats in Anna University constituent colleges and regional centres, 470 seats in govt and govt aided colleges and as such 1,52,283 seats in self financing colleges remaining to be filled

Counselling continues for another 25 days where about 1.30 lac candidates will be called.  only 1,77,975 candidates have applied where there are 1.96 lacs seats.
