Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal asked the Education department to make optimum utilisation of Rs 776 crore earmarked for the state under Sarva Siksha Abhiyaan (SSA) to impart quality education to the school going children.
Presiding over a high level review meeting of the Education department here, the Chief Minister said all out efforts should be made to further upgrade infrastructure in schools, especially in rural areas so that quality education could be delivered to the students.
Badal said that in the current age of competition, school education was very essential for the all-round development of students as it was a stepping stone for them to excel in the future.
Therefore, he said, judicious use of funds under the SSA should be ensured by the department to provide best education facilities to the students.
