Hindustan University announces a series of short term academic programmes in defence technologies

Chennai based Hindustan University announced that a series of short term academic programmes in defence technologies will be developed and offered by the Centre for Defence Technology Studies in collaboration with global missile developer MBDA, Cranfield University of UK at the Padur campus of Hindustan University.

A tri-partite agreement was signed earlier between the three entities in this regard and the same was announced in the presence of Mr Mike Nithavrianakis, Dy. High Commissioner for UK in Chennai. Mr Bertrand Dumoulin, Dy Country Head for MBDA in India, other senior officials from Cranfield University and Hindustan University participated at the function.

The tri-partite agreement between the three institutions provides for the joint development and delivery of academic and vocational training programmes in this vital sector.

These programmes would be delivered at the “Global Class room” at the Padur campus of Hindustan University as well as at the Shrivenham campus in the UK of Cranfield University and select manufacturing locations of MBDA.

A series of short duration training programmes which would carry appropriate academic credits for the award of Post Graduate certificates, diplomas and degree would soon be launched under the auspices of the Centre for Defence Technology Studies (CDTS) at Hindustan University, the first initiative of its kind in the private sector in India.
