Lucknow: Two teachers of a private school in Uttar Pradesh forcibly cut the hair of four Class 5 students after catching them bunking classes, an official said today.
The teachers cut the hair of four students of Spring Field School in Manjhanpur town of Kaushambhi district, about 300-km from state capital Lucknow, on Saturday.
"Even as the incident took place on Saturday, we came to know about it today (Monday) from local journalists. We have ordered an inquiry into the matter," official in-charge of primary education in the district B.P. Singh told media.
"If the teachers are found guilty of cutting the hair of students, stern action would be taken against them," he added.
According to officials, parents of the four students have also approached police seeking action against the teachers. However, no case has yet been registered. (IANS)
