The annual and semester exams, for June 2013 session, of the UP RajarshiTandon Open University started at various exam centers of the state on Tuesday. The examination will be conducted at 86 test centres spread in the state and the same would conclude on June 24, informed the Vice-Chancellor of the lone Open University of the state, Prof AK Bakshi.
Prof Bakshi said that more then 52000 students will be appearing in the examination for, which the university authorities have taken several steps for the smooth and fair conduct of exam. The exams are also being conducted at Bareilly, Lucknow, Varanasi and Gorakhpur apart from Allahabad.
The V-C said, "A number of teams of observers and flying squads have been formed to conduct surprise checks at the examination centers. The district administrations of the respective districts concerned are also being requested to assist the university in conducting the exam." V-C inspected the premises of Bharat Scout and Guide inter College of the city, on Tuesday, which is among the two test centers of the city. The other centre is Divyabha Girls Degree College.
The exam commenced amidst tight security wherein team of observers from the university were present throughout the exam. On Tuesday, exam for certificate and diploma programmes were held, informed the public relation officer of the university Dr Prabhat Chandra Mishra.
"The V-C has instructed all the centre superintendents to conduct the exam with utmost sincerity as he would not compromise with the quality of exams", said Dr Mishra. He also instructed the team of observers that they should conduct regular inspections of the test centres and if there is any complain or they come across any unscrupulous elements, the same should be informed to the V-C, Prof Bakshi.
The V-C has warned that if any complain is found against any centre concerned, strict action would be taken.
