Last week, over 100 scholars from industry and academia discussed and deliberated the success and failures of strategies adopted by Indian organisations to compete on a global market and even tried to decode DNA of Indian companies which enabled them to withstand the recessionary pressures during the recent years at the IIM-Kozhikode campus.
The convention highlighted the uniqueness of "eastern way of management" to develop ethical and sustainable business enterprises. About 85 papers on the theme were presented in 18 sessions held from 23-25 May 2013. There were separate sessions on doctoral colloquium, case study research and academic conclave.
There was also a tutorial session on Art of Scholarly Publishing and Case Study Development. Saji Gopinath, Dean Development, IIM Kozhikode and organizing secretary of the convention welcomed the delegates. Professor Balasubramaniam introduced the programme content to the participants. Parmit Chadha, CEO Strategy Division, GMR Group and Guest of Honour of the convention addressed the delegates. Professor Deepak Nayanithi proposed the vote of thanks. Professor Debashis Chatterjee, the director of the institute delivered the presidential address.
GM Rao inaugurated the GMR Gallery in the Indian Business Museum. The GMR Gallery showcases the 3D Model of the prestigious Terminal 3 (T3) of the New Delhi Airport, a creation of the GMR Group. Besides this, the gallery hosted informative panels on the company and a video screening facility.
