Atomic Energy Regulatory Board today signed a memorandum of understanding with the well-known technical varsity, Anna University, here towards research collaboration.
The pact was signed with a view to promoting joint activities with the varsity in the "challenging areas" of nuclear science and technology, an AERB release said.
The generic areas of collaborative research included reliability engineering, physics, environmental and
geographical information sciences, thermal hydraulics and structural mechanics, among others, it said.
The MoU facilitated sharing of infrastructural resources, promoting scholarly activities and providing opportunity for researchers/doctoral students of AU leading to strengthening of research activities at Safety Research Institute of AERB located at Kalpakkam, it added.
R Bhattacharya, Secretary AERB and Anna University Registrar S Sivanesan signed the MoU in the presence of AERB chairman Satinder Singh Bajaj, and Prof P Kaliraj, Vice hancellor, Anna University, the release said.
