SRM University is set to launch 11 new courses this academic year. The university will also start dual degree and integrated courses.
Vice-chancellor M Ponnavaiko on Thursday said two four-year courses (BSc Renal Dialysis Technology and BSc Radiology and Imaging Technology), a two-year MSc Medical Physics programme, MSc Econometrics, MA International Studies and MCom Finance and Accounts will be introduced this year.
Three MTech programmes, including food safety and quality management, and in renewable and solar photovoltaic technology; a dual degree that will help candidates get a Master of Health Management and an MBA degree at the end of the course, and a five-year integrated MBA that students can take up after class 12 have been planned.
"Three diploma programmes, including a diploma in politics, leadership and political entrepreneurship, are being introduced," said Ponnavaiko. The other two diplomas are on value education and an international Tamil teachers' diploma. Chancellor TR Pachamuthu released the results of the entrance examination. "Counselling for the BTech course begins on June 1, and 60,000 candidates will be called for counselling in batches of 4,000 a day," Pachamuthu said.
