The Punjabi University here will have an exclusive corner named after former Prime Minister Late Inder Kumar Gujral in its library, whose personal collection of over 2,000 books will be added to the university's existing collection.
"It is our honour that we will be having a special corner in the name of I K Gujral added to our own collection of over five lakh books, Vice Chancellor Jaspal Singh said here.
Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal will inaugurate the exclusive corner during the sixth All-India Punjabi conference tomorrow.
"We will make good use of it and try to find out source of 'Gujral Doctrine' from this treasure," Singh said adding, the Punjabi University will institute an award in the former Prime Minister's name.
Naresh Gujral, SAD MP and I K Gujral's son said, the books have extensive variety including bi-literal relations of different countries, foreign relations, religion and world affairs.
"I am happy to know that Punjabi University has made a special corner for Gujral Sahib's books," he said.
Renowned historian S D Gajrani, who has written the book 'I K Gujral as Prime Minister' has also welcomed Punjabi University's move.
Gujral, who headed the second United Front government for a year, died on November 30 last after a brief illness.
