Madurai: Every teaching faculty of Madurai Kamaraj University will get laptops as part of e-administration initiatives.
Retiring staff members also have good news. Pension procedures are simplified for them.
'The purchase of laptop computers were finalized during the 2008-09 financial year itself but a budgetary provision could not be made. This year, the university will procure sufficient number of laptops and will supply at the earliest,' S. Perumal, Syndicate member, said.
The members pointed out that retired staffers had to get no-due certificates from 18 sections in the university. The pension section must be moved to the ground floor for the convenience of retired peoples was another suggestion made by a member.
Replying to the plea, V. Alagappan, Syndicate member, said that hereafter the Accounts Department itself would get the required procedures done for pensioners and they need not strain themselves.
The Vice-Chancellor said that he was very much concerned about retiring staff and hence the requests would be met.
