Infosys along with a Bangalore based B-school, IFIM have collaborated to launch the VB Padode Centre for Sustainability at the management school’s campus. Currently, the Centre offers three initiatives - Shiksha Adhaar, a coaching centre to educate the less privileged; SAFE - Students Against Female Exploitation, a movement aimed at transforming attitudes towards women; Counseling Centre - IFIM students to counsel students from government schools on choosing the right career path.
IFIM also has a community based learning programme entitled Corporate Social Responsibility Project, institutionalised through the Centre for Social Entrepreneurship and Management. It aims at building awareness and sensitise students to various issues, concerns and problems faced by society and ways to enhance human, social and natural capital.
Some of the initiatives that the Centre will address are introduction to sustainability, themes and relevance to one’s daily life such as waste management, bio-diversity, gender etc., draft sustainability policy, vision and goals, volunteer action groups, and sustainability as a career option for management graduates.
