Chennai: Tamil Nadu government has urged the Centre to provide more financial support towards OBCs' education.
The State urged the centre to allocate more funds considering the factors like, higher population of Other Backward Classes people and more amount was spent on scholarship schemes by the State than funds allotted.
Speaking at a conference of State Ministers for Social Justice and Empowerment in New Delhi on Monday, K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran, Backward Classes Minister, said the quantum financial aid provided to Tamil Nadu by the center was insufficient compared to the expenditure incurred by the State every year on educational development of OBCs.
