Kerala state library council has launched a project for converting libraries in rural areas in the state to e-knowledge centres, providing free internet services to them.
The rural libraries would be computerised for the purpose at a cost of Rs 50 lakh during the year, an official release here said.
The project would be implemented in 200 centres in the first phase. Free software would be provided to library staff for distribution system.
