The Ambers team from IIT Delhi has emerged as the India Finale winner of the Global Business Challenge 2013 held by The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) in Mumbai.
The contest, now in its fifth year, is a global case study competition for undergraduates. It provides students an opportunity to test the depth of their financial knowledge, try out their business management skills, expand upon their competitive ability, and has even led to internship opportunities from well known organisations. Participating teams are expected to analyse, report and present on a CIMA case study.
This year, over 480 teams from various colleges from across India registered for the competition. This year’s case challenge was based on the toy industry.
Participants had to come up with interesting ideas and in-depth insights from industry representatives on a case from the toy industry. The finalists were selected on the basis of a case study report submission and a regional finale. Winners were adjudged by a panel of eminent personalities from the corporate world including Sridhar Ramamurthy, CFO, Hindustan Unilever, Deepa Dev, director–Finance, Barclays Bank Plc, Ramesh Swaminathan, CFO, Lupin Pharma and Siddharth Viswanath, executive director and partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC).
