Ma'din Academy, an educational and charity entity, has decided to launch special rehabilitation project for Gulf returnees, in the wake of expected homecoming of expatriates from Saudi Arabia with the implementation of new labour policy.
Package included training programmes, counseling sessions, career guidance, soft skill development programs, family orientation camps and help desk, a press release said here.
A special centre called 'Ma'din Life Long Learning Centre' has been established to implement these projects.
This new initiative was a response to situation where thousands of Indian expatriate workers employed in the small and medium enterprises in Saudi Arabia were hit hard as the Kingdom goes ahead with its plans to expand employment avenues for its own nationals.
The move has triggered shock waves among expatriates, especially those who are not working for their sponsors, the release said.
Facilities of Ma'din poly technic college, ITI, schools, language resource centre and Arts and Science College will be used to conduct the professional training camps.
'Most of religious, political and cultural organizations and educational centres in Kerala work with the generous contribution of NRIs and we have to pay back the support and care during their trouble times. We can wait for the government actions and reliefs but it take time to implement projects. So, Ma'din takes this as our duty towards the NRI community. All our 28 educational centres and resources have come forward support this move' Said Sayyid Ibrhimul Khalilul Bukhari, Ma'din chairman.
Ma'din also joins with German based UNESCO Institute for Life Long Learning and various government departments to conduct training sessions and to plan long term rehabilitation projects, the release said.
