The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is keen to provide technical and financial support to innovative ideas by students in fields such as energy conservation and health care, a senior scientist of the premier national research and development organisation said.
The student community should strive to take up more socially relevant projects in fields such as energy conservation and management, green building and health care for the benefit of the society and such innovative ideas would be supported by the organisation under its various schemes, Scientist in-charge of Central Scientific Instruments Organisation, Chennai, a wing of CSIR, Dr Kota Srinivas,said.
Delivering the valedictory at the two-day national conference on Advanced Communication and Computing Techniques NCACCT 13, organised by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Sri Sairam Engineering College here, he said the need of the hour was to save energy.
Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam, Scientific Officer R Jehadeesan inaugurated the conference and gave a talk on Advanced computer architecture and next generation networking while a tutorial on Optical Wireless Communications was presented during the conference.
Various papers in fields such as Communication, Wireless Networking, Image processing and Embedded Systems were presented at the meet, a release from the college said.
