Italian University to offer scholarships

The Italian University Luiss Guido Carli, Rome is offering six scholarships of 15,000 euros each year for students to join its Master of Science course in General Management, a two-year course starting from September 2009. Any student holding a graduate degree or finishing his graduation by July 2009 is eligible to apply. Successful candidates will benefit from a complete exemption of the annual tuition fee of 9,000 euros. They will also receive 6,000 euros per year to cover their living expenses. All chosen candidates will be offered the possibility to complete an internship in one of the various Italian companies that cooperate with Luiss in this regard. Qatar Foundation launches WISE

Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development has launched WISE (World Innovation Summit for Education), a global event whose ambition is to create a new international multi-disciplinary platform to shape education models of the 21st century. Renowned education experts will debate alongside leading representatives from a variety of fields around the world. A dedicated website — www. wise-qatar.org will emphasise the global aspects of the WISE initiative.

PAF’s competition

Pearl Academy of Fashion (PAF) recently hosted a Student Project Competition, which is said to be one of the first ever inter-college industry research contests for students pursuing careers in textile and fashion design. The event witnessed participation of over 24 students from various colleges. Gunjan Kumar and Sonal Shriya from PAF and Shantanu Basak from IIT-D were the chosen winners of the competition in the UG and PG categories respectively.
