Achievers award conferred on TNAU professor by SADHNA

Dr Samiayyan, Professor, Agriculture (entomology) in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University has been conferred the Achievers Award-2012, instituted by the Society for the Advancement of Human and Nature (SADHNA) of Dr Y S Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Solan, HImachal Pradesh.

The award, comprising a plaque, citation and a medal, was for his contributions on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) technology on rice, pulses and cashew, a TNAU press release said.

One of the unique aspect of the research was estimation of environmental impact quotient of IPM fields, which directly measured the effect of pesticides on human and environment, the release said.
