An Indian Language Institute and Skill Development Training Centre would soon be established at Muallungthu village, about 20 kilometres south of Aizawl, according to official sources.
Creation of such an institute was discussed at a meeting of the Mizoram Youth Commission here today, which laid emphasis on practical knowledge of major Indian languages including Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Marathi and others for young Mizos seeking jobs across the country.
The Commission members also deliberated on establishing at least five Community Colleges in collaboration with the Aizawl-based Mission Foundation Movement.
These would be placement-oriented institutions and would cater to the needs of educated youths and also people belonging to poor families, sources said.
