The criminology department at the University of Madras now trains professionals who handle cyber crime cases.

Speaking in a seminar at the University of Madras recently, erstwhile CBI director R K Raghavan told cyber crime that lack of expertise and infrastructure limited the success rate of cyber crime investigations to less than 50% in the country.
Cyber Science is also offered at SRM University in Chennai, Amritha School of Engineering in Coimbatore, National Institute of Technology in Kozhikode and JSS Academy of Technical Education in Bangalore.
