Opposition to Tipu Muslim University in Mysore

Members of Muslim University Opposition Committee staged a protest here, opposing the Centre's move to set up Tipu Muslim University in Srirangapatna.

The protesters alleged that the union government was playing vote bank politics by trying to establish the Muslim University ahead of 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

They alleged that it would lead to breeding of anti national elements and vitiate peace.
