Chief minister ManoharParrikar on Thursday advocated the need for all educational institutions to raise the bar on the quality of education imparted to students so as to help realize the government's goal to make Goa a golden state.
Speaking as the chief guest at the all Goa educational institutions' day of the Archdiocesan board of education at the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, Parrikar said that the products of educational institutions should be individuals possessing yearning for knowledge and who will stand up against injustice apart from being honest in admitting mistakes.
Stressing that the government did not believe in exercising excessive controls on educational institutions, Parrikar underscored the need for setting up educational facilities for differently-abled children.
Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao, in his address, urged teachers and management of the educational institutions to work dedicatedly to face the future challenges in the field of education. "Education is the best gift the Church is offering to the people of Goa," he said.
Several persons were felicitated on the occasion for their contribution in the field of education.
