Students of government schools in Haryana will soon get dual desks as the state government has already issued purchase orders totalling over Rs 100 crore for purchase of such study tables.
This was disclosed by Haryana Education Minister Geeta Bhukkal at the annual function of Government Senior Secondary School Sarhol in the district.
Bhukkal also inaugurated 9 rooms constructed under Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and dedicated separate toilets for girls, boys and physically challenged students.
These toilets have been got constructed in the school premises by Maruti Suzuki India Limited under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Elaborating on the steps taken by the state government to improve standard of education and provide quality education to students, Bhukkal said the process of appointing over 14,600 school teachers was in progress and 9,000 more JBT teachers will be recruited to overcome the shortage of teaching staff in government schools.
She said the state government would also recruit Class-IV employees in schools.
A new 'school nurture policy' would be implemented in the state, which will enable the school alumni who have attained success in various fields of life, to help in development of their school if they wish to do so.
Bhukkal appealed the people to take a pledge that no child should be left out of school so that the government can look forward to an educated society which is more aware and enlightened.
