Mohammad Sadique Idris will get 10 gold medals at the annual convocation of the Lucknow University slated to be held in the third week of February. A student of MSc (Mathematics), Idris secured 83.4% marks -- highest in the post-graduation in all the faculties.
Securing 71.35% marks, Shyam Prakash, a student of MA Ancient Indian History (AIH), won nine medals. While Shyam obtained highest marks in MA examination in 2012 in history, he also secured highest aggregate marks in MA in archaeology group of examinations in AIH.
Priyanka Singh of LLB and Neha Verma of BA won seven medals each. Priyanka not only scored highest percentage of marks in law, but was also adjudged the best women candidate at LLb examinations in all three years (I-VI semester). Neha topped the BA examinations.
Sharing six medals each, Megha Sharma and Vishwatosh Mishra were best students from MA (Social Work) and MSc (Physics) respectively. While Megha scored 72.1% marks, Vishwatosh aggregated 74.4%.
Next on the list are Rachna Tandon and Karnika Srivastava from Master of Public Administration (MPA) and MCom respectively. Securing 76.6% in MPA, Rachna has been adjudged the best student. Karnika on the other hand scored 70.9% marks which was best in MCom.
Controller of examination Prof Aqil Ahmed said that a total of 160 medals have been announced. However, the most prestigious medals - Chancellor and the Chakravarty - are yet to be announced. We will declare the names in the next two to three days. As many as 20 students have appeared for the interview for these two medals,'' said Ahmed.
