Mumbai / Boston: Harvard Business School (HBS) today announced plans to offer its industry-leading Agribusiness Seminar: An Asian Offering executive education programme in India. The programme, which will be held in Mumbai from May 10 to 13, 2009, will bring together a diverse set of agribusiness executives from across the globe.
The seminar will present case studies that engage participants in discussion on some of the most pressing topics in the industry including the outlook for global supply and demand, food safety, as well as agribusiness technology and innovation. Using the HBS case-method, participants will discuss the future of the agribusiness industry at a time when the global economic climate and access to capital has had an affect on the sector.
“The economic downturn has changed the landscape for the industry in the short term, but many opportunities still exist for companies that are thinking strategically and proactively,” said Mary Shelman, Director of the Agribusiness Programme.
Shelman further added, “The programme will help participants consider the long-term future of the industry and how to position their organisation to be ready when market conditions improve.”
The program will present cases on some of the most-recognised names in agribusiness including Monsanto, Olam International, Nestlé, COFCO Tunhe, and Hariyali Kisaan Bazaar. Executives from across the industry – from large companies to producers, suppliers and processors – have benefitted from the Agribusiness Seminar curriculum over the past 50 years. Participants come from around the world and bring a diverse set of viewpoints that enhance the classroom experience.
