Education is the most powerful instrument of social change and socio-economic transformation

The governor of Goa, BharatVirWanchoo has said that the education is an engine of social transformation and economic development. He also said that there is no alternative or substitute for the education.
Speaking at the 2-day seminar national seminar on "Education for Social Change", Wanchoo said education is the most powerful instrument of social change and socio-economic transformation, especially in a country like India which as a large segment of illiterate and malnourished people.

He also said that education alone will be able to facilitate change in the attitude and approach of the people, because it has the potential to illuminate their minds and provide the necessary impetus to change their outlook towards a better and wholesome life.
