The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) has organised a three-day symposium in February on current trends in Bioinformatics. The symposium will be held between February 20 and 22 at Yashawantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration (YASHADA).
The symposium will comprise invited talks from eminent academicians from esteemed institutes, a statement released by C-DAC said. At the symposium, talks by experts will address the challenges in the areas of structure and dynamics of biomolecules, computational genomics, application in human health, plants, animals, microbes, algorithms, system biology among others.
The symposium is targeted at students and researchers from academic institutes, universities and bioinformatics industries.
Eminent speakers including Venugopal Nair, Institute of Animal Health, United Kingdom, Kalyan Gayen, National Institute of Technology Agartala, Leelavati Narlikar, National Chemical Laboratory (NCL), Pune, Pramod Wangikar, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay among others, will speak during the three-day symposium, the statement said.
It further added, "This symposium intends to bring together researchers in various domains of human health, agriculture, live-stock and environment who are using advanced computational biology tools to solve scientific problems in their respective domains."
The symposium will be hosted by Bioinformatics Resources and Applications Facility (BRAF) of C-DAC. BRAF is an effort providing high-end supercomputing facility to the researchers working in the areas of Bioinformatics.
