The Punjab government today assured a delegation of members from private colleges that it will provide all assistance to upgrade the standard of education at these institutions.
Speaking after meeting representatives of the administrative committees of these colleges, Education Minister Sikander Singh Maluka Maluka said genuine demands of the delegation will be considered sympathetically, an official release said.
The delegation urged the minister to lift ban on the recruitment of the faculty in these colleges and sought release of arrears of the employees pending from January 2006.
It also requested for setting up of a higher education council in which representatives of the private colleges can be included.
