Governor asks students and staff of Punjabi University to embark on goal-oriented research and teaching

Punjab Governor Shivraj V Patil exhorted students and staff of Punjabi University here to embark on goal-oriented research and teaching to enable youth take up future challenges and contribute in the nation's development.
 
While addressing the 36th convocation of the varsity Patil, also the Chancellor of the university, said, the University is unique as it helps the students to study languages, religions, science and technology and other subjects, which enables them to deal with different aspects of life.
 
He said that the university also facilitates the study of religions, which makes man more human. On the occasion, Punjabi University conferred the degree of 'Doctor of Science'(Honoris Causa) on Surindra Singh Bandu and singer Gurdas Mann.
