Haryana education minister, Geeta Bhukkal said that the Haryana government has decided to purchase dual desks worth Rs 100 crore for students of government schools in the State.
Bhukkal, who was redressing the grievances of the people in Jhajjar said that these dual desks would soon be supplied to the government schools as an order for their purchase has already been placed.
She said that better facilities were being provided in the government schools under the Chief Minister School Beautification Incentive Awards Scheme. Apart from school administration, school management committees were also playing significant role in improving facilities in the schools. She said that a plan has been prepared to provide computer education to the children through service providers.
The minister said that Right to Education Act was being implemented effectively in the state and efforts were being made so that no child remains deprived of education. "With a view to ensure that the students get the books at the very beginning of the session, books would now be distributed class wise to them".
She also issued directions to the District Education Officers, District Elementary Education Officers and other concerned officers to regularly monitor functioning of schools in their jurisdiction. While monitoring, the education officers should take into consideration the educational level of the school and in case they find any irregularity they should fix it at the earliest.
