The Uttarakhand government has given its nod for the setting up of Urdu Academy in the capital.
Announcing this, Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna said different languages of the country are a reflection of its pluralist culture and the Urdu Academy will be a step towards strengthening it.
The announcement came a day after a government-appointed committee headed by Delhi Urdu Academy Vice Chairman Akhtarul Wassey gave submitted its recommendations before the chief minister.
