Academic Staff College of PUniversity starts refresher courses in Mathematics and Chemistry

The Academic Staff College, Punjabi University, Patiala has started the 30th and 31st refresher courses in Mathematics and Chemistry respectively which were inaugurated by Dr. Jaspal Singh, Vice Chancellor, Punjab University, Patiala.

In this function Prof. B. S. Tiwana (Director Academic Staff College), Prof. Satyabir Singh (Coordinator, Refresher Course- Mathematics), Prof. Balbir Kaur (Head, Department of Chemistry & Coordinator, Refresher Course-Chemistry) and Prof. Baldev Singh (Co-coordinator, Refresher Course-Chemistry) were also present. Dr. Jaspal Singh talked about the concept of globalization and its impact upon our society in a very attractive way.

Prof Balvinder Singh Tiwana spoke about the salient features of the Academic Staff College and discussed the various activities of the daily routine regarding the Refresher Course with the participants. Prof. Balbir Kaur (Chemistry) & Prof. Satyabir Singh (Mathematics) highlighted the achievements and research activities of their respective departments on this occasion.

These two refresher courses will continue till Dec. 17, 2012 and the Resource Persons of the National and International reputes will deliver their expertise lectures in these courses. Twenty six and twenty three participants are registered in Chemistry and Mathematics refresher course respectively. This function was concluded by the suitable remarks by Prof. Baldev Singh (Chemistry).
