A centre for Vedantha studies would be started at the Sri Chandrasekhara Saraswathi Viswamahavidyalaya deemed university at Enathur near here from the next academic year.
Speaking at the convocation of the university, Kanchi Sankaracharya and patron of the univeristy Jayendra Saraswathi said the uniqueness of this centre would be that the syllabus for the studies would in Sanskrit.
Preparations for appointing Sanskrit scholars and teachers in the field of Vedantha were completed.
He said Ayurveda, a branch of Rigvedha, and Sangeetha sasthra (music), a branch of Sama Veda, would also taught at the centre.
